Abstract
During operation of a staining device () including a first container () filled with a first process medium () and a second container () filled with a second process medium (), samples () to be stained are immersed in the first process medium (). A speed representative of how fast the samples () are to be withdrawn from the first process medium () is determined according to the first process medium () and/or according to the samples (). Subsequently, the samples () are withdrawn from the first process medium () at the determined speed.
