Abstract
A method and apparatus for blocking messages from a sender by a wireless communication device is disclosed. A wireless communication device is provided that receives () a selection of a message from a user, displays () an option to block a sender of the selected message to the user, receives () an instruction to block the sender of the selected message from the user, creates () a block document that includes an identifier of the sender, and sends () the block document to a server. The block document notifies the server to block the sender from sending messages to the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device also subscribes () with the server for a message blocking service and receives () a template from the server. The wireless communication device creates the block document using the template.
