The present invention provides for compounds of formula (I) wherein A, L, R, R, R, R, R, R, q1, and z are as defined in the specification, are prodrugs of CBreceptors ligands and as such are useful in the prevention and treatment of various diseases and conditions including, but not limited to, pain.
