Abstract
A relay device () comprises: an NW interface () for making a connection with a switching source terminal () that is receiving media data transmitted from a media server () and with a switching destination terminal (); an information storage () for storing a media data processing capacity of the switching source terminal () and switching destination terminal (); a media controller () for making a transmission request to the media server () for media data corresponding to the above processing capacity in the information storage (), and for acquiring the above processing capacity of the switching destination terminal () from the information storage () and instructing to transfer the media data corresponding to the acquired processing capacity to the switching destination terminal (); a media receiver () for receiving the media data transmitted from the media server (); a media buffer () for holding the media data; and a media transmitter () for acquiring from the media buffer () the media data corresponding to the processing capacity of the switching destination terminal () and transferring it to the switching destination terminal ().
