Abstract
The plant () includes a molten metal anode () passing through a fuel cell () anode inlet () having a first interrupted flow generator (), then into an anode flow field () of the fuel cell (), and leaving the anode flow field () through an anode outlet () having a second interrupted flow generator (). The molten anode () then flows into a reduction reactor () where the oxidized anode () is reduced by a reducing fuel (). The molten anode () is then cycled back into the first interrupted flow generator () and anode flow field (). Interrupting flow of the molten anode () prevents electrical continuity between the anode inlet () and the anode outlet () through the molten anode () within the anode flow field (). This facilitates stacking the planar fuel cells in series within a fuel cell stack to build voltage.
