An internal start-up heater () for an ammonia reactor (), comprising longitudinal heating members () and a supporting structure for said heating members (), the structure comprising plates (A-D) with parallel beams (A-D) in contact with said heating members (), wherein the plates are arranged in plate sets formed by at least a first and a second plate having differently arranged supporting beams.
