Abstract
A RAM disk driverreceives the user's specification for the capacity of a RAM diskvia an operation screen image(step S). The RAM disk driversets a continuous region in an OS invisible area, which is beyond management of an operating system installed in a computer, on a RAMfor a storage area of the RAM diskhaving the user's specified capacity (step S). When the user's specified capacity is greater than the capacity of the OS invisible area on the RAM, the RAM disk driverreduces the range of an OS visible area, which is managed by the operating system, on the RAMand sets the storage area of the RAM diskin the expanded OS invisible area. This arrangement effectively boosts up access to the RAMas the primary storage in the computer.
