Belling machine for pipes made of thermoplastic material, forming end sockets equipped with an integrated seal

Abstract

A belling machine () forms end sockets equipped with an integrated seal on pipes () made of thermoplastic material using a forming mandrel () on which an annular seal () was previously placed, diametrically expanded, coaxially and in a predetermined position. A loader () for loading the annular seal () on the mandrel () is able to move between a arming position, in which the loader is spaced from the belling axis (b) and does not interfere with the mandrel () movement along the belling axis (b), and a loading position, in which the loader is coaxial with the belling axis (b) and is located between the mandrel () back position, disengaged from the pipe () and the mandrel () forward position, inserted in the end () of the pipe (). An annular seal () is placed in a positioner () which holds it in an operating position for the action of an arming device (). After the seal () has been picked up from the positioner (), the arming device () armes the loader () with the annular seal () when the loader () is in the arming position.
