Abstract

A light-emitting device includes a light-emitting element; and a lens sectioncovering over the light-emitting element. The lens sectionincludes an entrance surface Son which light from the light-emitting elementis incident; an exit surface Sfrom which the light incident on the entrance surface Sis emitted; and an optical axis L extending so as to penetrate the entrance surface Sand the exit surface S. A concave sectionis formed in an area of the exit surface S, which contains the optical axis L, and two flat sectionsare formed so as to face each other across the optical axis L. The exit surface Sdefines an upwardly-protruding curved surface formed between the two flat sections, and the optical axis L is coincidence with a reference optical axis of the light-emitting element
