Abstract
A switching device includes input and output gears, and a rotational direction switching mechanismdisposed between the input and output gears. The switching mechanism includes intermediate bevel gearssupported on an intermediate shaftand meshing with input and output bevel gears, a control gearhaving a release arm portionand a stopper arm portion, and a one-way clutch fitted in a radially inner surface of a clutch receiving portion integral with the input bevel gear. When a spring clutchis used as the one-way clutch, an adaptor portionis provided on a coupling memberof the spring clutch, which is fitted on the intermediate shaft.
