Abstract

An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing (), a set of contacts () retained in the insulative housing () and a shell (). The shell () has a mating port to mate with a connector. The insulative housing () comprises a first body () and a second body () assembled together. The first body () includes a first tongue plate (), the first tongue plate () defines a receiving cavity (), the second body () is exposed in the mating port and includes a second tongue portion (). The first tongue plate () forms a first identification unit, the second tongue portion () forms another identification unit different from the first identification unit. As a result, user can sign if the electrical connector () can mate with at least two kinds of connectors.
