Abstract
A cosmetic composition is provided including a water-insoluble UV-A organic sunscreen agent having aranging from 330 to 380 nm, a UV-B organic sunscreen agent having aranging from 280 to 400 nm, and a photoprotective enhancing agent which is a polyhydroxy quaternary ammonium salt such as bis(dihydroxypropyl)dimethylammonium chloride, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier, and wherein the composition exhibits an SPF value which is 1 to 30 units higher than in the absence of the photoprotective enhancing agent.
