A measuring station for measuring vehicles has at least one laser source, which emits laser radiation () during operation, and a safety system, which includes at least one sensor, which is set up to detect objects. The safety system is configured in such a way that it switches off the laser source when at least one sensor detects an object which approaches a region in which the laser radiation emitted by the laser source has a particularly high intensity.
