Abstract
A projection display apparatusincludes a plurality of light sources, a plurality of light source power suppliesconfigured to supply electric power to the plurality of light sources, and a lighting controllerconfigured to control the plurality of light source power supplies so as to select and light at least one light source of the plurality of light sources in accordance with each lighting history of the plurality of light sources. The lighting controllerlights a predetermined light source continuously after the lighting history of one of the plurality of light sources reaches a predetermined value, and the lighting controllerlights a light source other than the predetermined light source after the lighting history of the predetermined light source reaches a predetermined lifetime value.
