Abstract
A rotary swash plate type continuously variable transmission comprises a driving mechanism, an output mechanism and a casing. The driving mechanism comprises a rotational swash platewith variable angle of inclination and at least three slide stems which are disposed parallel and equiangular with each other. Each slide stem is equipped with a one-way rotary helical gearat one end, and contacts with and slides on the surface of the swash plate at the other end. The output mechanism comprises a one-way rotational output shaftand a larger helical gearwhich is disposed on the output shaftand meshed with the helical gears. The transmission according to the invention is compact in view of structure and smooth in view of its output rotational speed. Moreover, the minimal rotational speed may be zero.
