Abstract

The invention provides phosphors composed of EuMaMbMgMcO, wherein Ma is Yb, Sn, Ce, Tb, Dy, or combinations thereof, and 0<x<0.5, Mb is Ca, Sr, Ba, or combinations thereof, and 0≦w≦0.5, and Mc is Al, Ga, Sc, In, or combinations thereof. The blue phosphors emit blue light under the excitation of ultraviolet light or blue light, and the phosphors may be further collocated with different colored phosphors to provide a white light illumination device. The blue phosphors of the invention can efficiently utilize light in solar cells.
