Abstract

A wireless communication device or a split band diversity antenna arrangement (or) has a first multi-band antenna (or) located at a bottom portion () of the wireless communication device and selectively coupled to a diversity receiver (), a second multi-band antenna (or) located at a top portion () of the wireless communication device and selectively coupled to a dual band transceiver (), a band splitter () splitting an input from the first antenna into a first output and a second output where the first output serves as an input to the diversity receiver, and a band combiner () that combines the second output of the band splitter with a signal from the second antenna to provide an input signal to the dual band transceiver.
