Abstract

PDP () includes front plate () and rear plate (). Front plate () has protective layer (). Rear plate () has phosphor layers (). Protective layer () includes a first metal oxide and a second metal oxide. In X-ray diffraction analysis, a peak of a base layer lies between a first peak of the first metal oxide and a second peak of the second metal oxide. The first and second metal oxides are two selected from the group consisting of MgO, CaO, SrO, and BaO. A peak desorption temperature of COgas from protective layer () is less than 480° C.
