Abstract

Sandalwood perfuming ingredients that are 2-[perhydro-trialkyl-2-naphthalenylidene]-1-propanol or propanal derivatives of the formula wherein one dotted line represents a carbon-carbon single bond and the other a carbon-carbon single bond or double bond; X represents a CHOH group or a CHO group; each Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and the R, taken separately, represent each a hydrogen atom or the two Rgroups, taken together, represent a CHgroup or a carbon-carbon double bond; and said compound is in the form of any one of its stereoisomers or a mixture thereof, along with the use of such compound(s) in perfuming compositions or articles in the perfumery industry.
