Abstract
Modified silicas having low silanol content which are compatible with polar compositions are prepared by modifying silica with a difunctional reactive organosilane or polydialkylsiloxane under oxidizing conditions below 400° C. The silicas have a distinct proportion of T, T, and Tgroups.
