Abstract

A seat belt retractor () is provided with: a spindle () around which a seat belt (B) is wound; a torsion bar () disposed in a cavity () of the spindle (), an axial end portion of the torsion bar () being attached to an axial end portion of the spindle (); a first pretensioner () that is attached to the spindle () at least during a collision so as to cause the spindle () to rotate in a retraction direction using a gas pressure; and a second pretensioner () that is attached to another axial end portion of the torsion bar () at least during a collision so as to cause the spindle () to rotate in the retraction direction via the torsion bar () using the gas pressure.
