Abstract
A needle () for a textile machine, in particular a felting needle or fork needle. A working section () extends along a longitudinal axis () and has a needle point (). Adjoining the working section () are a lower shank section () and an upper shank section (), both said shank sections extending coaxially with respect to each other along the longitudinal axis (). Adjoining the upper shank section (), there is provided a needle foot () that has a holding means () extending in a straight line in a transverse direction () transversely to the longitudinal axis (). The diameter (E) of the upper shank section () is both greater than the diameter (D) of the lower shank section () and greater than the mean width of the holding means ().
