Abstract
A devicewith at least one electrodefor generating an electrical field in a chamberis disclosed. The devicecomprises at least one input channelfor introducing a fluid into the chamber, and at least one output channelfor discharging the fluid from the chamber. Also disclosed is a method for stabilizing the flow of a fluid through a chamberin which an electrical field is generated and which has at least one input channelfor introducing the fluid into the chamber and at least one output channelfor discharging the fluid from the chamber. To avoid undesirable backflow of the fluid due to gas formation, the average inside diameter of the input channelof deviceis smaller than the average inside diameter of the output channel
