Abstract
There is provided a broadcast receiving apparatus, comprising a reception unitreceiving a broadcast signal from a plurality of channels; a display unitdisplaying video which corresponds to the broadcast signal; a touch panelaccepting handwritten input by a user; a character recognition unitrecognizing handwritten input onto the touch panelas a character or a character string; a memory unitstoring for each channel a character or a character string specifying the channel; and a control unitswitching a reception channel, when a character or a character string recognized by the character recognition unitcorresponds to any one of characters or character strings stored in the memory unitwhile video corresponding to a broadcast signal received at the reception unitis displayed on the display unit, to a channel corresponding to the character or the character string.
