A string matching unitspecifies a category of an input documentby string matching of the input documentand a classifying keyword shown by matching condition information. Learning datashows statistic information of each category. A classifying unitspecifies the category of the input documentbased on a correspondence ratio of the input documentand the statistic information shown by the learning data. A correct answer comparing unitcompares the category specified by the string matching unitand a category of correct answer information. A learning unitcompares the category specified by the classifying unitand the category of the correct answer information. An error rate calculating unitcalculates a classifying error rate of a string matching filter unitand a learning filter unitbased on the comparison result of the correct answer comparing unitand the comparison result of the learning unit. A result outputting unitoutputs the category specified by the filter having a smaller classifying error rate as a classified resultof a classifying target document
