A naphthopyran compound represented by the formula (I) wherein: n, n, p, m and q represent an integer; R, Rand R, represent a group selected from halogen, —R, —OH, —OR, —SH, —SR, —NH, —NRR, —NRR, —CO—R, —COR, —OC(O)—R, —X—(R)—Y, linear or branched (C-C) perfluoroalkyl group, wherein R, R, R, R, X, Y, R, and Rare as defined in the description; Z represents a group selected from CO, CS, SO, SO, CO, C(O)S, CS, C(O)NH, C(O)NR, C(S)NH, C(S)NRand C═NR; Rrepresents a group selected from halogen, —R, linear or branched (C) perfluoroalkyl group —OH, —OR, —SH, —SR, —NH, and —NRR; Rrepresents a group selected from —Rwhich may be optionally substituted, linear or branched (C) perfluoroalkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, and heteroaryl, which may be optionally substituted; Rrepresents a group selected from: halogen, —R, linear or branched (C) perfluoroalkyl group, —OH, —OR, —SH, —SR, —NH, —NRR, —CO—R, —O—C(O)—Rand —COR; or when q is equal to 2, then two Rtogether represents further a group —O—(CH)—O— wherein q1 represents an integer comprised from 1 to 3 inclusive.
