Abstract

A functional icon arraymade up of multiple functional icons indicating types of reproduction functions, and a content icon arraymade up of multiple content icons indicating items for reproducible contents are displayed on a menu screen. In the case where a functional icon to be displayed in an intersection regionin which the functional icon arrayand the content icon arrayintersect is a network icon, the content icons are hierarchically displayed according to an XML file acquired via the Internet. A content iconA, which indicates a content classification, and content iconsA,B,C, andD, which indicate more classifications belonging to the classification indicated by the content iconA, are hierarchically displayed.
