Abstract
An optical joint () includes a 2×2 MMI coupler () and a 2×2 MMI coupler () joined to the 2×2 MMI coupler (). The 2×2 MMI coupler () includes a port () and a port () at one side. A light-absorbing region () is connected to the port (), and a light-absorbing region (second light-absorbing section) () is connected to the port ().
