Abstract
A node () for use in a cellular communication system having interfering signals and employing interference cancellation techniques for mitigating the interfering signals comprises means () for obtaining a signal value representing power of a first signal. The node () further comprises means () for obtaining a precancellation interference value representing powers of signals interfering with the first signal before the interference cancellation is employed. A predictor () is arranged for predicting a postcancellation interference value after the interference cancellation as a function of the precancellation interference value. An estimator () is connected to the predictor () and the means () for obtaining a signal value. The estimator () is arranged for estimating a signal-to-interference ratio as a ratio between the signal value representing the power of the first signal and the predicted postcancellation interference value.
