Abstract

In a wireless communication system, a control unit () of a base station () sets a frequency hopping cycle longer than a predetermined value during a certain measurement interval in which an measurement of a frequency drift is conducted, allowing reception of a plurality of reference signals of the same frequency in receiving an uplink signal from a mobile station (). The control unit () controls a reference signal extraction unit () and a reference signal phase difference calculation unit () so as to measure, based on the plurality of reference signals, the phase shift amount of a received signal at the same frequency. Thus, the wireless communication system can measure the phase shift amount by controlling the frequency hopping.
