An electric drive vehicle includes a vehicle main body, a battery, a power generating unitthat charges to the battery, an operating condition setting switchcapable of setting an operating condition of the power generating unit, a power-generating-unit side ECUthat operates the power generating uniton the basis of the operating condition, a navigation systemthat acquires a vehicle traveling condition, and a vehicle-side ECUthat estimates the amount of charge consumed in the batteryduring traveling under the vehicle traveling condition. The vehicle-side ECUturns on an alarm lumpwhen an estimated time necessary for charging the battery to make up the amount of charge estimated is longer than a desired time it takes to charge the battery to make up the amount of charge estimated.
