Abstract

A display systemis composed of a ghost image reducing deviceand an image device. The ghost image reducing devicecomprises an image reflecting elementand a polarizing element. The image reflecting elementincludes a substrateand a phase modulating elementwhich is adjacent to the substrateand has a reflecting surface. The image devicegenerates a polarized image light Pwhich is received by the reflecting surface. Then, a portion of the polarized image light Pis reflected by the reflecting surfacefor producing a first reflecting polarized image light P, another portion of the polarized light Pis projected into the phase modulating elementand reflected by the substratefor producing a second reflecting polarized image light Swhose polarizing direction is different from that of the first reflecting polarized image light P
