Abstract
The invention provides a process for the regeneration of at least one adsorbent bed, comprising at least the steps of: (a) contacting a first adsorbent bed (B) with a gaseous stream () such that at least a portion of adsorbed species in said first adsorbent bed (B) are released; (b) cooling a second adsorbent bed (B); wherein a bypass () is provided around the second adsorbent bed (B) and the gaseous stream (), before contact with the first adsorbent bed (B), is directed to at least one of (i) the second adsorbent bed (B), and (ii) the bypass () around the second adsorbent bed (B), wherein the proportion of gaseous stream () flowing through the bypass () is controlled.
