Abstract

A method for forming composite anti-reflective (AR) sol gel-derived coatings includes forming a first chalcogenide compound sol and forming a second chalcogenide compound sol. The first and second sol are mixed to form a mixed sol. The mixed sol is thermally treated at a maximum temperature of no more than 100° C. for (i) drying the mixed sol to form a composite gel and (ii) removing OHspecies from the composite gel to form a highly amorphous state AR coating.
