Abstract
The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus capable of accurately controlling DMA transfer of a plurality of pieces of data present in a memory with a simple hardware configuration, and an information processing method for use therewith. A memoryis provided with a descriptor table Tcorresponding to a queue Qand a descriptor table Tcorresponding to a queue Q. In registers Rand Rof a descriptor controller, the descriptor number constituting the descriptor table Tand the descriptor number constituting the descriptor table Tare recorded, respectively. In caches Cand Cof a descriptor obtaining section, descriptors of the descriptor table Tand descriptors of the descriptor table Tare recorded, respectively. A descriptor selectorselects one of the caches Cand Cin accordance with a predetermined rule. The present invention can be applied to all electronic apparatuses for performing DMA transfer.
