Abstract

When a deletion request to delete a file system is made and a retention period of the file system to be deleted has not expired, the retention period end date and time is displayed at high speed. A CPUgives a retention period attribute to each file of a file systemand manages the furthest future retention period end date and time, from among the retention periods of the files, as a retention period end date and time of the file system. If a deletion request to delete the file systemis made and the retention period end date and time of the file systemis future time ahead of the current time when the deletion request is made, processing for deleting the file systemis stopped and the retention period end date and time of the file systemis displayed on a screen
