A multi-stage transmission comprising planetary gearsets (P, P, P, P), shafts and shift elements. The sun gear of gearset (P) couples drive shaft (). The carrier of gearset (P) couples shaft () which can couple housing (G) via brake (), shaft () via clutch (), which couples the carrier of gearset (P), and shaft (), via clutch (). Shaft () couples the ring gear of gearset (P) and the sun gears of gearsets (P, P). Shaft () couples the ring gear of gearset (P) and the carrier of gearset (P). The sun gear of set (P) couples shaft (), which can couple housing (G) via brake (). The ring gear of gearset (P) couples shaft (), which can couple housing (G) via brake () and output shaft () operatively couples the ring gear of gearset (P), is connected to the carrier of gearset (P).
