The present invention relates to an alkalimetal salt of glutamic acid-N,N-diacetic acid (GLDA) of the formula NaKHGLDA, wherein x is equal to or more than 2 and lower than 4 and y is more than 0 and equal to or lower than 2, x+y is 3.5-4, and x+y+z=4, to processes to prepare such salt and the use thereof.
