Abstract
A cable-operated device () suitable for use with a parking brake () includes a cable () having first end coupled to a lever () of a brake mechanism. A supporting member () supports at least one longitudinal portion of the cable (). One end of a coil spring () is affixed to the lever () and the other end may be affixed to the supporting member () or a bracket (). The cable () extends through at least a portion of the coil spring (). One end of a liner () is affixed to the supporting member () and the liner () surrounds at least a bent portion of the coil spring () that is supported on a guide surface ().
