Abstract
In a cognitive radio environment with at least three cognitive radio terminals, terminalsandhave an active link. Terminalestimates the link quality, and if it is deemed good terminaltransmits over the frequency band in use on the link. Terminalthen monitors the link between terminalsandto quantify its interference on it. If no interference is detected terminalcan increase its power. If terminalsandchange their modulation terminaldeems its interference too severe and either reduces power or finds another frequency band. Terminalcan use blind modulation detection for the link between terminalsand, and estimate link quality based on the type of modulation in use.
