Abstract

A liquid crystal display device, includes: a gate line () provided as a first conductive layer to extend the gate line in a predetermined direction; a thin film transistor () including a gate electrode () connected to the gate line (); a first pixel electrode () provided as a second conductive layer closer to a liquid crystal layer () side than the first conductive layer; a shielding electrode () provided as a conductive layer to be closer to the liquid crystal layer side than the first conductive layer and provided in a region between a location region of the gate line () and a location region of the first pixel electrode (); a connection portion () provided to at least partially overlap the shielding electrode () and provided to be closer to the first conductive layer side than the shielding electrode (), the connection portion connecting a source electrode () of the thin film transistor () with the first pixel electrode (); and a common electrode () which is opposing the first pixel electrode () via the liquid crystal layer () and is set to have the same potential as the shielding electrode ().
