Abstract
An electrophotographic printer includes a transfer roller cleaning deviceand a carrier liquid supply unitdisposed at a portion of the circumference of a transfer rollerbetween a position of image transfer onto a recording mediumand the transfer roller cleaning device and including a carrier liquid supply rollin rotational contact with a surface of the transfer roller. The transfer roller cleaning device comprises a cleaning rollrotating in rubbing contact with the surface of the transfer roller and having a bias voltage applied thereto which is of a polarity opposite to that of a residual toner; a peripheral surface scraping bladepositioned downstream of the cleaning roll in the rotation direction of the transfer roller; a side surface scraping bladelikewise positioned downward; and a surface scraping bladedisposed at a portion of the circumference of the cleaning roll.
