Abstract
When an output pattern (LLL or HHH) due to a signal with a prescribed logic level corresponding to a ground short or instantaneous interruption of an output signal line of Hall ICsis supplied via the output signal lines, and if output patterns based on detection signals supplied before and after the output pattern are found to be different by comparing them, a decision is made that there is a possibility that a shift of a rotorfrom a target position and counterrotation of the rotorinvolved with it can occur.
