Abstract
A method for removing COin a exhaust gas from combustion of carbonaceous material, in which method the exhaust gas is brought in countercurrent flow with a liquid COabsorbent in a contact section of an absorption column, to produce a COdepleted exhaust gas that is released into the atmosphere and a COrich absorbent that is withdrawn from the absorption column, wherein the exhaust gas is introduced into the absorption column at a temperature above about 90 and the exhaust gas is cooled in the absorption column by countercurrent flow of the liquid absorbent in the absorption column, is described.
