Abstract
A recording medium includes a substrate and at least two ink receiving layers formed on the substrate. In the recording medium, an uppermost ink receiving layer of the at least two ink receiving layers has a dry coated amount of 5 g/mor more and 20 g/mor less and contains hydrated alumina which a divalent metal compound adheres to. The ratio of an element content of the divalent metal to an element content of aluminum (element content of divalent metal/element content of aluminum) in the uppermost ink receiving layer is 0.001 or more and 0.03 or less.
