Abstract
An isolated peptide comprising the sequence (I): TPA-Asn-Leu-His-Phe-Cys-Gln-Leu-Xaa-Cys-Lys-Ser-Leu-Gly-Leu-Leu-Gly-Arg-Cys-Xaa-Xaa-Xaa-Xaa-Cys-Ala-Cys-Val-NH, wherein: TPA represents thiopropionic acid; Xaarepresents Arg, Lys; Xaarepresents Ala, Arg; Xaarepresents a D-amino acid; Xaarepresents Thr, Ser, Asn; Xaarepresents phenylalanine or a phenylalanine derivative having the structure (II), where A is absent or represents S, O, NH or CH, B is absent or represents a Cto Cbranched or straight-chain alkyl, and R represents a Cto Calkyl, heteroalkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, cycloheterocyloalkenyl, aryl, or heteroaryl, and the use of the peptide for manufacturing anti-HIV therapeutic or vaccine compositions are disclosed herein.
