Abstract
A secondary battery includes an electrode groupin which a positive electrode plateand a negative electrode plateare wounded with a porous insulation layer interposed therebetween, wherein an electrode plate end portionprotrudes from the porous insulation layer and abuts the current collector plate, and the current collector plateis placed in relation to the electrode groupso as to entirely cover the end portionof the electrode group. Parts of the electrode plate end portionabutting the current collector plateare welded to the current collector plateat discrete joint portionson the current collector plate, and the joint portionsare discretely provided on a surface of the current collector plateso that a current flowing from the electrode plateto the current collector plateis uniformly distributed.
