Abstract
A mobile communications system (), comprising at least one mobile terminal (), a plurality of base stations (-), at least one central entity () adapted to manage said plurality of base stations, adapted to perform a handover, wherein: —said mobile terminal () is adapted to transmit a handover request message in a pre-defined slot requesting a new point of attachment; —said plurality of base stations (-) are adapted to receive said handover request message and further adapted to determine which one of said plurality of base stations (-) is to become said new point of attachment; —a base station () arranged to become said new point of attachment is further adapted to transmit a handover response message to said mobile terminal (); —said mobile terminal () is adapted to receive said handover response message and to change its point of attachment.
