Abstract

An object of the present invention is to provide an electrolyte for photoelectric conversion elements, and a photoelectric conversion element and a dye-sensitized solar cell using the electrolyte, wherein high energy conversion efficiency can be achieved while substantially not including iodine. The electrolyte for a photoelectric conversion element of the present invention includes an ionic liquid (A) and a carbon material (B) having a specific surface area of from 1,000 to 3,500 m/g, wherein a content of the carbon material (B) is from 10 to 50 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the ionic liquid (A).
