Abstract

The invention relates to a safety device for a watertight electro-chemical accumulator (), comprising a circuit breaker () which is actuated by an overpressure inside a container () of the accumulator, and a gas generator () which is activated when the temperature in the generator exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The safety device can be used for quickly interrupting the current flow through the accumulator in case of malfunction and before electrolyte vapors are generated.
